Total Time: 30 minutes
Yield: 4–6 servings
Ingredients:
• 1 lb spaghetti
• 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or hot)
• 1 jar of Pellegrino’s Marinara Sauce
• 1/4 cup cream cheese
• 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Fresh parsley or basil (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Spaghetti
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
2. Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook Italian sausage, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until fully browned, then drain any excess grease.
3. Add Marinara Sauce
Reduce heat to low. Add Pellegrino’s Marinara Sauce to the skillet with the sausage and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
4. Add Cream Cheese
Stir in cream cheese until it melts and blends into the sauce, creating a creamy consistency.
5. Combine with Spaghetti
Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. Use reserved pasta water as needed to thin the sauce.
6. Add Parmesan
Sprinkle in grated Parmesan cheese. Toss again and season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Serve
Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley or basil if desired. Pairs well with crusty bread or a green salad.
